Meet Dr. Mary Fisher

Dr. Fisher is an FNP and LNP in psychiatry. She has been a member of the nursing profession for 30 years. She is a graduate of Radford University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She also holds a master’s in nursing from the University of Virginia. She holds a Doctor of Science in Nursing as well as Juris Doctorate from Breyer State University. Her clinical interests include the treatment of children and adolescents as well as the medically complex. Her dual certification lends itself to treating both of these specialties. She is an active member of the consortium of app graduate fellowships and her research interests include graduate education, especially fostering resilience. She also has an interest in integrated health care systems. She holds a faculty appointment at the University of Virginia and serves regularly as clinical faculty for App and medical students. She is a guest lecturer on legal issues in healthcare.

Dr. Fisher is the President of the Nurse practitioner Association of the district of Columbia and she is a member of the AANP and VCNP and sigma theta tau. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking and dancing and time with family and friends.
